Trading floor system
Classic exchange system in which trading takes place in an exchange building on a trading floor.
Floor trading is characterised by a high degree of interpersonal communication between participants.
With the emergence of electronic trading, the importance of trading floor systems has diminished significantly. At present, there are seven exchanges in Germany that use the trading floor system. These are located in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart.
Our glossary explains important financial terms and should not leave any questions unanswered. However, if you are missing a definition, please write to us at redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. We will then include the term if possible.
