Mark to the market
To adjust the valuation of open derivatives positions such that they reflect current market prices.
Open futures positions, for example, are marked to the market on a daily basis to ensure that margin requirements are being fulfilled. The margin owed is offset against the surplus margin in the account.
Our glossary explains important financial terms and should not leave any questions unanswered. However, if you are missing a definition, please write to us at redaktion@deutsche-boerse.com. We will then include the term if possible.
