Initial charge
Distribution fee that may be payable on the purchase of fund shares.
The initial charge is a fee levied by a fund company for the issuance of a fund unit. Usually, the initial charge is calculated as a percentage of the offering price (up to 5 percent). However, fund trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange is free of any initial charges.
